*Wrote This In A Few Minutes From Three Words: Pimple, Run, Cat
It all started the day I got my first pimple. I had never had a pimple before. I remember thinking that my life was ruined. I tried covering it with some makeup but it made it more noticeable!
Mom made me go to school still with this huge pimple on my face.
When I climbed into my car it wouldn't start, I didn't have time to sort it out. Mom was watching me from the kitchen window.
I climbed out my car and stalked to the garage and grabbed my old bicycle.
And I cycled to school.
I was only a few minutes late.
People didn't stare or say anything but I know that they saw my pimple.
It was so embarrassing!
After school I look for my bike and can't find it!
Someone had stolen my bike!
My day couldn't get any worse.
I started my walk home.
I was half way when I noticed someone following me, well I wasn't sure he was following me at first, but soon I was sure of it.
I started walking faster, and when he kept pace and sped up and soon I was running.
I was running so fast that I was out of breath in seconds.
When I saw my house I was so happy. I sprinted the last few meters.
I ran straight into my front door. Shutting it behind me and locking the door.
I was so scared.
My heart was beating really fast.
I peeked out of the window to see the man walking away from my house.
I waited a few minutes before opening the door.
On my door step was a box, not a large box but not a tiny one either.
I looked around cautiously before pulling the box into my house.
I tried to think of what could possibly be in a box that a man who followed me left.
I had nothing.
So I slowly opened the box and looked inside.
My heart squeezed when I saw the contents.
Two tiny kittens were cuddled together on a blanket.
There was a letter tucked in the side. I pulled it out and opened it;
Hello Mel,
I knew how much you wanted a cat. So when I found these two abandoned kits I knew you would be the perfect surrogate mother!
I hope you enjoy them. They are adorable, let me know what you name them!
Missing you loads, can't wait to see you again.
Lots of Love,
Your Brother.
Jason.
I smiled at the letter.
My brother.
I hadn't seen him in three years.
I tucked the letter away.
The man who was following me - Jason probably gave him strict instructions to find me at school.
But I has left in such a hunch when I couldn't find my bike that he couldn't get to me.
I felt bad for running. That poor man was just a messenger. Nothing bad.
I picked up one of the kittens and place her on my lap.
She was a beautiful kitten. A ginger cross grey.
I knew exactly what to name her...
Tawnee. American for "Little One" and she was tiny.
I placed her back in the box and pulled out the other.
It was a boy. He was much bigger.
I named him Alpha. The Alpha male. The only male. He'll look after his little sister, I had thought to myself, just like Jason looks out for me.
I picked the box up and walked to my room.
The worst day turned into the best.
Wow...
